Great idea about D-day failing but the film is slow and lifeless.

They actually did a set of very comprehensive war games in the early 70s and found that even under the most optimistic circumstances the german army would not have been able to advance more than 30 miles into Britain and would have quickly been cut off from France by the Royal Navy and forced to surrender. And this would have been even before the US and Soviet Union had entered the war.
