Yesterday I saw thejeez's (or tvt) Youscope oscilloscope demo for the first time (see link at the bottom), and immediately decided that I wanted to watch it on my computer.
Frustrated by the lack of a decent x-y oscilloscope simulator, I decided to hack together a little C program to read the sound data from the wav the author provides and export it as a series of 256x256 bitmap images.
After a few hours of coding I finally made it work, and then converted the bmps to avi+mp3 using VirtualDub.
Enjoy!
