Uncovering the Secrets of the Severn

Naturalist and broadcaster Nick Baker goes panning for (wildlife) gold in the mudflats of the Severn Estuary.

Join Nick as he uncovers the ingredient that makes the estuary so important for wildlife - mud glorious mud! We get a close up view of some ragworms and find out about some of the estuary's other mud-dwelling inhabitants including the Laver Spire Shell and the Corophian Shrimp!

Plus, we get a lesson in scale as Nick shows us just how much precious wildife habitat could be under threat from proposals to build a barrage across the estuary.
