A summer weekend at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Florida, camping and canoeing along the Loxahatchee River in Florida.
Although we did not see or encounter any alligators, a week after, to the day, on June 19th 1993, Bradley Weidenhamer a 10 year old young boy was killed by an 11'4" alligator while wading in the Loxahatchee River in Jonathan Dickinson State Park at 6:00 in the evening.
Looks like you had a nice vacation on Loxahatchee River. Though the news of Bradley's passing is news. I am curious why You have posted this information with your video? Hopefully it is to make others aware of the actual dangers of what the river contains.
Bradley is my cousin and yes he is with the Angels now!!!

I was deeply saddened when I read the news about Bradley, just a week after we had been there. Yes, the purpose is to make others aware of this impending danger among all the beauty in Loxahatchee. My prayers are with him and his family.

Warning from Melissa Sheotes as seen on "loxahatchee national wildlife refuge" video on YouTube "Never feed the alligators! Because then they will climb on your boat or canoe looking for a hand out! They had a problem with alligators ambusing people at the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge 10 years ago, the alligators approached visitors on the boardwalks, looking for free food, so never feed alligators! They are like grizzly bears!"
