Documentary (90's): Pakistan Navy's submarine force represents the offensive punch and a means to strike the enemy at long ranges. The Submarine Squadron was inaugurated in 1964, with the acquisition of PNS/M GHAZI from the United States. Since its inception the Submarine Squadron has contributed significantly towards the defense of the country.

Agosta 90-B
Pakistan and DCN France signed a contract for 3 Agosta 90-B submarines on 21 September 1994. Under the contract, one submarine was to be built in France while the remaining two were to be built in Pakistan. The first unit, "KHALID," was built in Cherbourg and delivered to Pakistan in 1999-2000. The sections of second unit, "SAAD," were constructed in Cherbourg and sent to Karachi for modular assembly in 2000. The third unit of the series, "HAMZA," has been manufactured entirely in Karachi.

Agosta 70
In 1978 Pakistan contracted with France for 02 Agosta class submarines. These submarines were basically built for South African Navy but were withheld due arms sales embargo by United Nations. These submarines were smoothly and swiftly integrated in the Pakistan Navy fleet in 1978-79. The 02 Agosta submarines significantly increased Pakistan's maritime offensive defense capability due their enhanced endurance, long underwater detection ranges, over the horizon targeting capability and increased firepower. The linear towed array sonar has provided her the flexibility to classify contacts at extended ranges.

Daphne Class
French Daphne Class Submarines HANGOR, MANGRO, SHUSHUK and GHAZI have served actively in Pakistan Navy from 1967 till Jan 2006.

X-CRAFT
X-Craft 908 P/A as Shallow Water Attack Submarine(SWAS) is used to carryout mine laying torpedo attack, frogman operations and commando landing. The contract of these mini submarines was signed with Italian firm M/s COSMOS in 1986. First of these craft was brought to Pakistan in semi knock down condition in 1988. Subsequently all X-Craft were assembled in Pakistan with TOT. Presently, X-Craft are being operated under COMSUBS alongwith other conventional submarines.
