Here is a review of the Sear Tele-Games version of one of the first home video game systems ever made. Released in 1976 or 1977, this was one of the updated models of the original Pong. Although it's Sears branded, this baby was made in Sunnyvale, CA by Atari.

  • hey Dommie what kind of camera do you use for these types of Reviews?

  • The videos before christmas, 2010 were done with an old Sony DV cam. The ones done after then I used a Flip Video HD.

  • Woo hoo youre back.

But why didn't you show the other games, instead of just one? I would have liked to see the other games.

  • Honestly, they're all ore or less the same game with more players and I was just playing by myself. Except "catch", which is sort of like reverse pong.

Pong requires you to use your imagination a bit to see the "different" games. IE: "basketball" = 1 player, "tennis" = 2 players, "handball" = 3 players, "doubles tennis" = 4 players, etc.

  • interesting vid...with the picture.. i think if u hooked it up to a rf amp it might improve the picture.. i think it just looses alot in that long wire.. :p

  • I dunno, I thought about that but the thing is over 30 years old. I think the RF modulator is probably just out of sinc. There's probably a pot switch you can adjust if you take the thing apart, but I really wasn't all that anxious to go there. Who knows what you'd find inside that thing. Maybe Journey tickets and a 30 year old weed stash... :P

  • Just got one for cheap

  • Release date: 1975

  • Very cool!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!

  • We had one these. I remember that the game in color was a big deal at the time and for a while we were the envy of the neighborhood kids. We always had trouble getting a clean picture and would have to slide the TV / game switch at the rear of the TV several times until it came in crystal clear.

  • nice

  • I just picked one of these up at a garage sale - the picture is snowy (think bad analog reception), and there's a rainbow pattern. Are either of those actually supposed to be happening?

  • Great, my grandmothers house is 30 miles from my home. I think I will plug it in at her house and use her electricity.

    Just Kidding.

  • Our family got one of these for christmas in 1976. Tne video was't all fuzzy like it is here, and the color tv we used had a rainbow look from left to right when playing it. We would have a dozen people in the house and do tournaments, destroying mass quantites of soda and popcorn.
