"No, Frank, she's just here waiting for her parents." Kaylee eyed the little boy warily. She didn't even remember him leaving earlier, and now he's back again.
"Well, is Kevin dating her?" Frankie asked exasperated. Nick shook his head.
"No, she's not dating any of us."
"Good. You wanna be my girlfriend?" he asked, looking over at her. Kaylee laughed.
"Sure, I'll be your girlfriend."
----------
The doorbell soon rang after. Kaylee had forgotten all about who she really was for a minute there while Nick told her stories from their everyday life, and Frankie constantly tried to put the moves on her. But as soon as that doorbell rang, her mind was back in place.
"Thanks for letting me stay here," she said, feeling her father's eyes on the back of her head. Nick smiled.
"No problem." She waved a little before she followed her dad out. She counted to five under her breath, walking slowly, and just as she hit two, she could hear Nick calling out behind her. He jogged to catch up, holding his phone out towards her.
"Hey, can I have your number?" he asked in one quick breath. His cheeks were a deep red, and she couldn't tell if it was from the jogging to catch up, or from the shyness of asking for her number. "You know, since Frankie's your new boyfriend?" he added with a wink. She smiled and took the phone from him, punching in her cell phone number.
"I'll call you sometime," he said as he took his phone back. "I-I mean, Frankie, will, uh, call you sometime, he stuttered. She smiled again at his pink cheeks and cute shy boy manner.
"Well, tell Frankie to call me soon," she said before turning to get into the expensive black car her father used to pick her up. Nick waved and watched as she pulled out.
"So, Kaylee, what have you found so far?" he father inquired.
"Uh, I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for, but I know Joseph's not too close with his father or older brother." This seemed to catch her father's attention, but she had no clue why.
"Really? How about with his mother?"
"Apparently, they're very close." Her father slightly smirked. "Why do we want to kill him anyway?" she asked.
"That's none of your worries," he replied. Kaylee scoffed.
"I'm the one who has to kill him! It is part of my worries." They stopped at a red light and he turned to face her, his expression scaring her a bit. But then again, his expression always scared him.
"Kaylee, your job is to find any information available, and to get rid of the boy. You don't need information in order to shoot his brains out." The car started moving again, and Kaylee 'humphed', irritated. Sometimes she hated her family. She hated her life. She hated the family she was born from.
But she dealt with it anyway. Knowing her family, if she didn't obey orders, it wouldn't matter if she was his daughter. She'd be killed.
