These are some tips that have worked for me. I am not saying they will work for everyone, but this is how I am able to live a more normal lifestyle.

1) Drink plenty of water
2) Eat your veggies raw or steamed
3) Sugar.. Baaaad!
4) Perservatives & additives. Bad.
5) More than avg protien
6) Naps are ok! 2hr MAX
7) Snacking keeps you energized.

More to come.

***REMEMBER to always check with your doctor before quitting any of your medication***

  • Thanks for the tip on vitamins! I'll talk to my endo about it! I'm going to try some of your suggestions starting tonight! I'm also hypothyroid, so do you know if natural desiccated thyroid works better for people with Fibromyalgia than Synthroid? Also, do you have any tips about waking up at night because of neck pain (and also joint pain)? I feel like 70 years old, and I am only 20..

I wish I could start doing what I want again! Thank you very much for the tips!

  • @Mawisky From my exp & talking to friends anything all natural seems to help Fibro people. However, the synthetic synthroid isn't chemical and is fine. The natural is VERY complicated and can take quite a while to find the correct dose. For waking up with the pain at night A) Drinking enough water B) Try to relax your muscles 1hr before bed with a bath or heating pad or chamomille T C) make sure you have a good bed & pillow. When I got a new bed it helped LOADS! Constant stretching is a HUGE key

  • as to mushrooms..studies show lasting changes in mood can be produced .. i was diagnosed with ptsd and " mood disorder" by the psych docs. so mood altering substances seemed fine by me.- and i have worked with the mentally ill for 20 years folks. yes- it's a hard adjustment..

i cant work ,or fight, fuck, ride or dance like i did ..but i'm still here. until i decide to go. see you there.

  • how am i better? well i put the safety on the shotgun for one..

here's the deal- pace yourself, peace yourself, i practice being still and quiet alot.

no coffee, nicotine, commotion.. i like hot packs, distractions,

and i save the bellyaching for my dog.

.i still think i'm a deadly warrior and i am running a gauntlet day and night.

stretch alot .. beware of them ssri drugs..2 drink maximum..tramadol was ok.

allergies can be a factor ..so can trauma.see dr. bigelson

    so quite bellyaching..

  • to my understanding- fibro is an elevated level of "substance p" in the spinal fluid. see intrinsic brain connectivity. i liked neurontin.. i use marijuana. i can say that i am far better , off most all meds, after taking " shrooms" ..( i had a neighbor with cows and a bit of rain, and knew what i was doing.) not for everyone, sure, but i sat on the hillside and did a cup of chopped mushrooms in hot chocolate, most every afternoon for a month and for some reason i am certainly better.

  • I too suffer from fibromyalgia and have for so many years. Sometimes the pain is too much to bear and I can’t imagine going on another day feeling this way. But then I found a comforting scripture in the Bible. Revelation 21:4 says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This is a promise from Jehovah God. This helps me cope day by day.

  • @lovethelight777 how did you find out you have fibro?? I mean doctors can't diagnose the condition because there is no blood test? Fibromyalgia is a silly name invented by doctors who have given up. I suspect you just have a food intolerance.

  • In many cases, fibromyalgia is actually untreated hypothyroidism. Check your thyroid. Some desiccated thyroid hormone could change your life. Take the Barnes Basal Temperature Test, google it. It's very simple.
