This is the Tale of Brummie the Bhamster, the Unofficial Mascot of Birmingham, AL. Brummie, a hamster in a bee costume (also a slang term for someone from Birmingham, England), takes the job of unofficial mascot only to learn that the title has already been taken by the B-Ham, a pig wearing a t-shirt with a "B" on it. After some advice from Vulcan, the world's largest cast iron sculpture and icon of Birmingham's steel industry past, and "the Oracle", the storyteller in Birmingham's Five Points fountain, Brummie uses his newfound Bee Powers to battle B-Ham and the evil M-Cat, an evil genius whose Study Ray Gun threatens to stop everyone in Birmingham from having a good time. This short was made as part of the Winter 2009 Sidewalk Scramble, a 48-hour filmmaking competition sponsored by the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham, AL. It won 2nd place in Division 1... and a Goo-Goo cluster for best use of a Bhamster.
I thought that film was really cute. Enjoyed seeing at on March 18 at the screening. - Jackie (Nerds R Us)
