Rebecca Ordish and her husband Adam went to Nepal to spend five months teaching English in local schools - and were inspired to start the Mitrataa Foundation to help disadvantaged Nepali women and children get a chance at education to build for themselves a better future. In this video, Rebecca talks about the importance of women's advancement and what inspires her to make a difference in the lives of Nepali women and children.

Congratulations to The Hapinoy Program from the Philippines for winning the US$25,000 Grand Prize grant! Determined by a combination of public votes and judges scores from the live pitch on 24 August, 2011, The Hapinoy Program wowed the public and judges with their life changing idea.
Congratulations also to UPLift Initiative from Thailand for winning the US $10,000 grant for the best Financial Literacy/Livelihood proposal.
In a surprise development at the Grand Finals, MasterCard put forward a US$10,000 special prize for Most Creative Community Outreach proposal, which the judges awarded to Painting the Road to Empowerment from India.
