Schmidt at Google and Salesforce are absolutely right. The future is in web-based apps. This will hopefully untie us from the Windows-based dilemma and open up the PC computing world to browser-based apps and a truly open and competitive market. then we will see new excitement and innovation.

Well you are alone on that. Schmidt is indeed a genius. When he took the reins at Google they were a Search company. He has turned them into an IT titan in just a few years. What a lot of people don't realize is he was far ahead of his time when he was at Novell as well. Corel WordPerfect was a great app and at one time was 50% of the Word Processor market until Microsoft decided to lock it out of their OS. Schmidt's resume speaks for itself.
