An annual festival in Kochi, Japan that takes place in August. The serious dance teams work year round on perfecting their dance--よさこい 踊り-- and some teams even travel from Tokyo and Osaka to participate. All the dances uses little wooden clappers called naruko, 鳴子. Kochi is a small city on Shikoku, right on the Bay of Tosa, well known in Japan for Sakamoto Ryoma, Katsuo no tataki, and the Yosakoi Festival. This video is from ヨサコイ2006.
