the Smart car, takes minimum damage to the front, everything is transferred to the underside of the car. the passenger apears to be safe and cosey. The Smart even uses the reverse momentum to back out of the way and keeps the passenger at a safe swinging movement seemingly reducing the damage to passengers when organs slam into the chest cavity.

i think the Smart is safer.

Fiat's driver airbag didn't help, driver splattered against windsheild then exposed half out the door. rear left passenger would have had the side of the car in their leg. the front side passenger would have had the roof crumple on their head. and of course since the whole thing ripped open like a cracker jack box debris turns to shrapnel inside the Fiat. \
