  • cool but too bad its navagating such a hellhole

  • hey.. doy ou know if there's a way to watch someone's tracks LIVE as they move??

  • @rcgroot78 thanks again sir...i somehow get it now...im starting to know getting around with my galaxy.i was hoping for the same kind of gps system that my friend has with his nokia. he doesnt need a wifi connection but he gets good gps signals and maps. but then again, they're different phones so its ok. is there an app that functions like this though? being able to use the gps with maps that are already saved in your phone or something?

  • > an open space or outdoors to be able to use the gps satellites: Yes, GPS is based on a low powered radio frequency and gets blocked by walls or high buildings.

    > if i need to have a memory card to be able to install new apps, music, vids, pics, in my Samsung Galaxy

I am sure that apps are installed on the internal memory. Most Android phones uses a seperate SDcard for music, vids and pics and also include one in the box. Best to check your manual or ask your service desk about your Galaxy.

  • @leiyo2 Determining where you are uses GPS signal. Loading a map to actually draw your location will require a data connection. The maps application without data wont work.

  • @rcgroot78 I've turned the GPS satellites on...then clicked on MAPS...after awhile, I get the message "NETWORK FAILURE"...This application requires a working data connection

  • @rcgroot78 thanks for the reply...and do i need to be in an open space or outdoors to be able to use the gps satellites? and one more thing, i know this is totally out of the topic...i just wanted to ask if i need to have a memory card to be able to install new apps, music, vids, pics, in my Samsung Galaxy? can't i use the internal mem for the mean time? Thanks! sorry for all the trouble...

  • @leiyo2

From the home screen press Menu >> Settings >> Security and location >> Enable GPS Satellites.
