This is basically where I've been spending my time for the past couple months. There was more "stuff" in the garage than anticipated! But now I have a room of my own for painting...no more sharing the kitchen table!!!!

Music is by Michael David Crawford and is used with his permission. He (and his beautiful music) can be found at http://www.geometricvisions.com/
Please visit his site, he's a fantastic artist!

  • I'm impressed that it works so well for insulating the room. I live in the pacific northwest, so if I tried this I think mold would invade after about a week. : /

  • @Thaelyssa Hi Thaelyssa...we live in Florida where the humidity is very very high along with the heat....so I know all about mold :/ But the peanuts never got any mold nor was there any mold any where else too... The garage is on the south side of the house...so the sun beats down. I think there would be a mold problem if the garage were on the north side of the house and always in the shade.

  • How do you regulate the temp in the garage?

  • I use a fan. But it stays pretty cool due to the peanuts and cardboard insulating it.

  • and get the most comfy chair you can find! Superb you took what you already had and made it into what you want. INSPIRING!

  • The chair I found fits my butt to a "t":)

    Thanks Suzi!

  • What did you use to hold the cardboard up with?

  • HI .i want to turn my garage into a studio as well. tho I must install an a/c unit as well. i too am florida- south florida and will be storing 'Cosmetics' in the studio so i must have the temperature regulated. I thought id have to fully enclose my garage door but youve given me less expensive ideas.. Checking on how the studio has held up after a year of our rainy season! thanx a lot! will you email me ;D christinaaa111@gmail.com THANXXXXXXX

  • Sure can. The seams of the cardboard and wallpaper are lined up where the seams of the door panels are. I have to admit though the door is a bit heavier to lift. :)

  • can you still open the door?
