Video from Hurricane Irene as it approached the shore of Atlantic Beach, NC. Met up with Brandon Sullivan and his crew at 12:15am in the morning and stayed together for a while. Also had Jared Stevenson and his friend tagging along with us for most of the trip also! The power didn't go out until around 2am in the morning. From then on, conditions quickly worsened. Had a maximum wind gust of 109mph, with a minimum barometric pressure of 952mb. This was our FIRST hurricane intercept, and wound up being a complete success! Will plan on more hurricane intercepts as the opportunity arises
Great video Chris! Keep safe out there!
