@salahdin911 I get where people are coming from with eurocentric dominated history but there are a whole lot more colors of people than black and white. North Africans are quite different from West African sub Saharan people. The fucked up thing is how sub Saharan West African history is ignored because people are too busy worrying about what color Jesus and Moses were. Guess what they were brown. Who cares? they weren't more important than Igbo or Ashanti people.

How did people build bridges across strong, deep rivers back then? Were there periods when the rivers would run dry long enough to build? I know that today we have lock and dam systems that keep rivers steadily filled with water, but I know that before sometimes rivers dried up at times?

It's funny to me that when blacks point out the great men in history who were black, some whites always try to tell us that their color doesn't matter, like we're the ones who are racist! If their color doesn't matter, then why have whites traditionally pretended that the Ancient Egyptians were white, Christ was white (who was hidden among the Ancient Egyptians), and some even now try to say that the Moors weren't black, when the word "Moor" is short for "Blackamoor". The Jizya was not always a fixed tax, though very often it was. Whether it was fixed or not has nothing to do with it's ammount. Whilst there is some disagreement amongst historians over how burdensome the Jizya was for the common people. ALL agree that it was more more than Zakat.
