Some jamming on 4 southwest fiddle tunes from Arizona: pinto beans, purple lilies, peanut shoes, libby birdsong. The source for these tunes is the fiddle band music of the Tohona O'odham people of Southern Arizona. Two of those 4 tunes are on the Gu-Achi Fiddlers CD "Old Time O'odham Fiddle Music". It is not virtuostic and the fiddles are on the scratchy side, but the exuberance and more than compensate. The Gu-Achi fiddlers are long gone, but the music lives on in a newer generation.
Thank you for keeping my grandfather and the Gu-Achie band members tunes alive.

Great music, makes me miss Tucson; even though it is a hot dry heat!!

Looks like it was a whole lot of fun. Great to see so many young folks interested in playing this kind of music. Absolutely delightful. Thanks for posting.
