A light-hearted but serious look at
how God is perceived.

Friendly Disclaimer: I don't intend to offend anyone's religious or non-religious beliefs. I respect everyone's right to their own opinions and feelings.

CREDITS:

The quote I read at the end is from
Joseph Campbell's "The Power of Myth" written with Bill Moyers.

The book is essentially a transcript of the PBS interview series, which is now on DVD. The quote is on page 49.
As the pagination can vary with printings, etc., I'll add that it's from Chapter 2, The Journey Inward, about 2/3 of the way into the chapter.

The music at the end is a brief excerpt of:

"Decollage" by Les Balayeurs du Desert.

Search YouTube for "Little Giant Girl" and there's a cool video with more of that wonderful music.

  • @DXhardy831 Yes, there are the 13 attributes of god or mercy. It's an interesting metaphor. I'm essentially an atheist, too.

  • cute.

    God is within everything

  • @JusticeVSpropaganda Thanks.

I would say God IS everything, not just within everything. (Depending on how God is defined.) ^_^

  • Just like everything else on earth God is misinterpreted.. Want the answer look within.

  • @YOLT1952 That's the point: even when people look inside, they get a different answer. You will have to do better than that.

  • the word "God" comes from the anglosaxon (viking) term "Got" which refers to Odin or Wodin, the viking Father deity. see how screwed up English is? A more accurate term for the diety Creator might be 1) Elohim - which implies a plurality Creator or Oneness. But since the true name of the Creator has been lost, even though some ppl call It / Him / Them "Yahweh" or "Yehovah" (derived from the Tetragrammaton YHVH) - I prefer to use "ha Shem" (the Name) out of respect to not wrongly name 'Him'.

  • Nice vid, Steven. Aloha

  • @StevenErnest According some scientists it takes a lot longer to shape a spiral galaxy as the universe is suposed to be old. My present believe is that the universe is endless in time and space and static. So no beginning and no end. In both time and space. Its in my nature to reject what is generally accepted as truth. I am a bit staborn :-) If not I would still be praying towards the mother of god.
