  • Have you ever stop to think that you owe your high wage to the union. If there never was a union do really think that Fedex and other freight companies would be paying you your current wage, and if the union companies go under how long will it be before you get a decrease in your wage?? TEAMSTERS LOCAL 63. Rialto, Ca. Simply the BEST!!

  • The wages you make is because of the Union. If you were paid .33c mi and 12.00hr. The Union would be able to organize and unionize FEDEX. At 80k you still don't have company paid ins. or retirement. FEDEX can afford it . The workers just don't want it bad enough

The "global economy" is changing everything. Revenue is no longer shared with the workers so they might buy their companies products.

It's like a boat taking on people and slowly falling below the waterline. Though you can't blame the people for wanting to come aboard, what do you suppose comes next?

Americas aspirations to excel can't drag the rest up to our level of achievement. They will drag us down to a new level though. It is the Human Condition. No one is to blame.

I assume that in that you are making $80,000.00 a year with FedEX, you are working your butt off.

Imagine what you'd be making if unions had not fought for better wages and conditions decades ago.

Yes the days of organized workers, ie unions may be behind us but global conditions being what they are, conditions are falling to a new norm rather than rising as they once did.

  • @nd318865 ..That sounds right...and it just keeps getting worse day by day....RR

  • @raginroadrunner They divested Freightliner (to Mercedes Benz) and used the proceeds to build their air freight division and buy the 4 Con Way entities and use non-union drivers going forward. After the demise of CF, Menlo Logistics picked up where CF left off and to this day they are huge in "logistics" ie letting someone else actually do the work!

  • Actually, CF was killed off on LABOR DAY weekend, after the board of directors refused to reaffirm the companies numbers in response to the governments response to the ENRON collapse. The stock fell and that was that.

Not like it wasn't the plan all along. It just came together that weekend.

  • Consolidated did not go under..they only started a non union truck line..cheap bastards wanted to hire illegal aliens and middle easterners for dirt ball wages.. they are the problem..glad you're gone...

  • @379peterbilt530 day cabs for small trailers for tight docks and delivery areas that a full size tractor and trailer wouldn't have a chance to fit.

  • @IsoNurFace local 776 York,Pa.

  • @furmountain21 I fully agree sir

  • What a cute little truck.
