WAIT WAIT WAIT. who the fuck buys a 3000 dollar guitar and plays it through a 100 dollar amp. you could even buy a decent little tube amp for practice like the fender champ 600 for 150 bucks

alright, first of all if you play a gibson through an MG you are not the smartest folk on earth..second, distortion pedals don't do much for cheap amps...your sound would still suck. sorry :(
