Tapes were indeed faily primitive things, but saying that I've got tapes dating back to 1980 and will still play - I'm currently transferring them to CD before it's too late

Does anyone remember or have an early 70s BASF advert with a cracking guitar break? One of the first things I remember on telly.

I can't really hear the difference, but I suspect it's because this video was recorded on a tape.

Yea, there's something out now called CDs. You should check them out!
-
@stevealexR1 I'd rather live with this and enjoy the perfect quality than the poor ferric cousins!

I was quite surprised to see you can still buy blank cassette tapes at my local Asda.

Better high frequency response and less compression at the expense of more low frequency distortion and print-through...

I noticed on the second half of the singing in the ad the sound was off BASF chrome tape with sharper crisper treble!
Chrome tape gives sharper crisper treble and a fuller dynamic range capable of handling anything you throw at it.

I found a BASF chromdioxid (CR-II) in my local second-hand record shop, it was still new in it's shrink-wrap & i bought it!
