The assignment had a 120 frame limit, which wasn't quite enough for what I had planned out. Because of that, it's a little too fast.
I had to make a more advanced ball rig then a simple sphere for this. I basically made a separate squash control, where the direction of the squash can be adjusted independently from the rotation of the ball. I used a Mesh Deform modifier in dynamic mode, and some additional rigging voodoo to do this.
