The volume of the mp3 is very quiet, so you might have to crank your speakers for at least the beginning...
I composed this song using finale 2008.
It was inspired by a story I've been writing, somewhat as a soundtrack, but not as much as my past works. This song in particular has been decifered as the rights and wrongs of humanity, our capacity to do good, and equally if not moreso, evil. The song gets heavier and heavier as it goes, with some experimental chords and ideas, I hope you enjoy.
The symbols used are a part of that mentioned story, representing the parties involved-one can probably tell which ones represent the evil and which ones don't! :)
I ask only for constructive criticism, as I am an amateur composer. I have yet to take any classes in music theory or composition. My abilities were derived only from playing music, and what I hear in my head, so take it with a grain of salt.
As an amateur composer myself, this is quite good!
One recommendation for the ending: for my tastes, at least, I would have preferred a nice, broad few chords with the full orchestra rather than that melody with the cellos (or at least that's what I thought they were. Or are they violas?)
Constructive criticism aside, I recommend after doing several pieces of classical music, try to compose other styles. Finale offers several electronic-type sounds, so it's fun to get into modern-type styles.
