"FROM NANCY WILSON"
Look What the Moon Can Do...
It pulls on your salt water like love.
It calls you out for a good long look at night.
It brings the psychedelic dreams and poetry from your deepest heart.
It makes you want to paint and sing and play guitar and write to your best friends all about your fleeting life.
It makes you love your dog.
It makes you see your life like a scrapbook.
It fills your eyes with borrowed light and watches over your soul.
It connects you to all the longing that was ever longed.
All the history of longing.
All the howls of wolves in the woods.
It circles above your loneliness like a trophy.
It sees more danger in the city and more peace in the valley.
It makes you light candles and fires and say prayers.
It blurs in your tears when you miss your mom.
It instructs your children that they are not the center of the universe after all.
It dances in the stars.
It spins like an album.
It makes promises of beauty beyond.
The moon is like a mother, gazing down, reminding us that time is real, love is real, we are her children who might never know the bigger mystery.
She is a god beyond gods.
Not a construct or a belief system.Never judging.
Just big and powerful and as unanswerable as the sea.
The moon pulls the sea like breath.
In around, out around.
Like the bow on a violin in and out, across and back, wax and wane.
Breathing the breath of beckoning survival.
Never still, spinning in tandem with our spinning, a safe distance.
The distance we see ourselves from.
Love rules

Each time I watch one of these videos or dust off my Heart on vinyl, I am more and more amazed that Ann, Nancy and Heart weren't a bigger success than they are.

@PeopleSmoks Yeah, but success in what way? They paved the way for Women in Rock, they established themselves as one of the legendary band's to come of the 70's,and they are still touring and making records! They also survived all the crap without going into the padded room or O.D.ing or breaking up,so I think they are very successful. IMHO. : )
