Your first impression of this piece may be that a compilation of short, unrelated, impromptu etudes punctuated by pauses have been cobbled together willy-nilly, or that Beanie was bored or distracted. However, upon more studied reflection, you will see that just the opposite is true. Indeed, each section is short and there are pauses, but it is these pauses that give cohesive relation to the whole piece, adding information and commentary that beckon you to search for the deeper meaning.

A case in point, is when Beanie inserts a brief sigh-like clucking sound while she elevates her neck. Is she indicating that we must stretch beyond our preconceived biases? I think so. In any case we must go beyond what we hear to receive the full impact of Etude con Movimiento.

  • This is so sad...

  • I know what you mean, but many, including myself have had to start on run down instruments. But it makes you appreciate the finer instruments when they come along, later in your career.

  • BTW is that "piano" mis-tuned or did the chicken intentionally tune the "piano" like that for a more different tonal variety

  • Imagine what it is must be like to live free of preconceived musical notions. The beauty is that with Beanie, we don't have to imagine. All concepts such as "intonation" are swept clean in exchange for pure music, experienced in the moment, at its most basic, intuitive level. And she invites us to revel with her vicariously.

  • i do not understand this video or the description and i won't acknowledge it with a response.

  • Beanie and I appreciate your non-acknowledment comment and may dedicate one of her songs to you.

  • This is my fav vid of all the Beanie the playing piano chick! Kudos, Beanie!

  • Man, I totally love your chicken, and I totally agree with you :)

  • Actually, we are planning to record and make some of her better songs available. Thanks for the suggestion.
