Scott Ramsey show the basics of piano tuning in this continuing series. This series is to help you understand the basics of how Pianos are tuned, moved, cleaned, etc.
You are just bullshitting us! Everyone who has ever tried to get just one string right knows the difficulty lies in getting just that amount of twist you need. It's like demonstrating how to play violin: look, pull this bow across the strings, put your finger somewhere on the string and..there, that's how you play the violin! easy, isn't it?
I learnt you have to over-tune the pins (sharpening the note) first and then detune them otherwise they will fall flat very quickly. But the tuner here doesn't appear to be doing this. Does anyone know which is the correct procedure?
what are the risks of breaking strings? i have a henry f. miller we've had for 30 years. It has been tuned a few times with no problems. I have a good ear and can quickly tune most stringed handheld instruments (guitar, violin, etc.) Would it be worth it to buy the wrench and damper and risk it? It's not an amazing piano, but it's better than no piano. ha.
@popiriki77 this video is for tuning your own piano at your own risk. But anyone can tune their own piano if they have the basic tools and a little understanding about how a piano works. I would only tune a piano my self if i got it for free off of craigslist who cares then it just has to sound good
please if you are not a professional piano tuner don't show those videos again because people will think it is simple and it is not....!!!! where is you're equal temperament ? and what do you do about inharmonicity are you crazy this work is bullshit!!!
