P Ramakrishnan VS K Sudhakaran =congress realy straggle in KANNUR # 1

Even after his stupendous victory, A P Abdullakutty continues to raise the hackles of a section of the Congress party. These leaders resent the general perception, fanned by the media, that the victory belong to K.Sudhakaran alone.

With the issue snowballing, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has reprimanded Kannur District Congress Committee president P Ramakrishnan for his public outburst.

Ramakrishnan had made a public outcry over the candidature of Abdullakutty and the credit given for his victory to Sudhakaran. He had said that Abdullakutty was the choice of Sudhakaran and not of the DCC. He also opined that this was the sentiments of the many Congress leaders in Kannur. He also criticised the way the credit is being given to Sudhakaran.

The KPCC president in his letter to Ramakrishnan had warned of action if he continues with the public outburst against Abdullakutty or Sudhakaran. The president had also issued directives to all Congress leaders that no public statements should be made on this issue hereafter.

It may be noted that even when Abdullakutty was being considered for the candidature in Kannur, the Kannur DCC had urged the KPCC president not to consider him. Declining this demand and yielding to the pressure from Sudhakaran, the KPCC had given the ticket to Abdullakutty.

Now after the impressive victory of Abdullakutty the credit for this itself has created a controversy with leaders making conflicting claims which compelled the party leadership to take stern actions.
