I'm at the Chuk Lam Sim Yuen temple in Hong Kong doing the first half of a Som Bo Jin form. This one version of the many Som Bo Jin forms I have learned in the SPM family.

  • Madcity,, How long have you beeen training SPM? Your pretty good , your really fluid and have Great Form.

  • I have been doing martial arts for eighteen years and practicing SPM for fifteen years. Not all of that time has been under the same teacher. Presently, I occasionally touch base with previous instructors to catch up but I am always looking to learn more SPM. I delight in the differences of each SPM family and value any new information.

  • Wonderful! After I had it translated I can give a proper response. This Som Bo Jin form is one variation among many within the Southern Praying Mantis family. It also has many variations across multiple martial art disciplines.

  • Um...only one school does this sombojin. You must also be a student of Manny's?! Where did you learn your set?

  • I am not a student of Manny's. I studied under two of Sifu Wongs students in the Chicago area.

  • good footwork......the "sink and spit "energies depend on the sinking of the waist and dan tian...and the "tweeze" is the loading of the legs energy into the waist..

  • Wow, nice job bud. Its really inspirational to see a martial artist as commited as you. I've been practicing Moo sul Kwon TKD for sixteen years and have been mixing other forms into it as well. Congradz on your talent and I hope you live a happy life (^_^)

  • I wouldn't go that far as to say he is all that. He still needs some work... and he is only doing about a quarter of Chu Gar som bo gin.
