  • This is a treasure!

  • I voted for this song to win at the time.

  • My favourite Mary song from Eurovision was NOT Knock Knock - Far too poppy for her, but maybe the best chance for the UK - then - to win. Good luck to Andrew Lloyd-Webber this year ...

  • Hi essbee2212ships was my favourite song as well and was also the one I voted for...

  • Thankyou Pat for this posting. This was my favourite.I remember on the Radio 1 at the time they said Mary had recorded all the songs and they would be released on an L.P...were still waiting! What did puzzle me are some of the lyrics.Instead of "one carried silver the second carried gold the third etc etc.. "wouldnt it have been better to have written "the FIRST carried silver etc".I still think "Knock,Knock" was the obvious commercial choice if not neccessarily the best song.

  • yes, I hadn't noticed that!

I agree on the commercial sound of "Knock knock", I know Mary didnt like it, but I did, and lots of memories surround this song for me. I love nostalgia! LOL

  • All the other 12 shows in Cliffs 1970 series are believed wiped. Ive searched for them over a number of years and i dont think they exist anymore. They were never shown abroad either which is bad news. The quad tapes were wiped after broadcast.

The one show the bbc kept was from 31st January (no.5) in which she sang 'Early in the morning of yr life'

I do have good audios of the intros and conversations Mary had with Cliff if yr interested, though not the songs.

  • Would love to hear the other songs when you get round to transferring so i can try and build up soundtrack of the complete shows.

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this! This was my favourite song of the Eurovision choices, I voted for it but of course "Knock Knock" won (although that was a great song too. I have been trying to find this song for over 40 years! :))))

  • hey check out my page which has music that might strike you the same way these songs do. thanks.i take requests too.

  • Knock Knock is my favorite eurovision song. Mary also recorded about five other songs that I like at least as much.

  • Exactly what I thought amd I even "misheard" at first that she sang The First, The second, The Third but see my cooment at "Can I believe" that Knock Knock was the best song for Eurovision, however, Mary performed and interpreted all the songs with great professionality and added a special "Mary" touch to all of them...
