I think BJJ is definitely a very strong ground game. But to be effective in MMA you need both. IMO Bjj is great when your on the ground, but doesn't do much when you get blasted in the face with a shin.
What im trying to put out there i guess is that no MARTIAL ART beats another. There are no better martial arts only better fighters. a muay thai scrub gets owned by gracie a bjj scrub gets owned by silva. It comes to athleticism, My example being George saint pierre who is great at both.
