Pardon me, but what kind of barbarian could give this gem a thumbs down?
-
I'm singing this in my choir :D
-
I can pick out Head Chorister Connor Burrowes's voice... : -)

@brendantmcguire Since I sang this a while back in my school's choir I actually have the music for it. I'm pretty sure most editions actually note that it's actually written as doon and dee (or whatever the actual spelling is) but a lot of choirs (in english speaking countries) sing it with down and die for the meaning. Still doon and dee would make more sense vowel wise
-
it's pronounced doon and dee, it's not written in english
-
@sofjajade: It's because the song is a reflection of the relationship between her parents. His mom was scorned and frowned upon by her father-in-law because she was American married into English aristocracy.

I play this often and love it to pieces. Thank you!

I love this. reminds me of Cedie, the Little Prince.

Beautiful sound but pity they had to anglify the words. It's "gied me", not gave me and lay me "doon and "dee" not down and die! The Russian choir managed it fine.
Thank you ! Beautiful!
