1967 Pontaic Firebird 428 4-Speed

This is Junkman's 1967 Firebird 428 4-Speed with Rear mounted Antenna, Tinted All Glass, Center Console, A/C, 400 Ram Air Optioned, Deluxe Interior, Posi equiped with Heavy Duty Suspension. This car came with 365 HP from the Factory. It Only has 30,000 miles on the clock.

Factory stock does not mean dealer installed. Royal POntiac and some others installed 428s in Firebirds.

Unless it was COPO which no Firebird was, the VIN will not denote a factory installed 428, Miss Thang.

Yah thats what I meant. Dealers like Royal Pontiac installed them, but GTO's and Firebird's with a 428 from the factory is pretty much non-exsistent.

I think 428's came in the bigger full-sized cars right? (Bonneville etc)

No firebird came factory stock with a 428.

No 428`s came from the factory in those cars. Maybe some dealer installed. GM had a cubic inch limit in those days that was lifted in 1970. That`s why the Buick and Olds 400 cubic inch engines dissapeared after 1969.

actually i heard (not sure if its true) that some GTO's and Fbirds were special ordered with 428's. Very few.
