Also, the "$6,400" price is because some poor schmuck did not have a means to pay his/her membership in a timely manner (2-3 years) and got stuck with about 7-10 years worth of interest. Again, not DirectBuy's fault because he/she cannot control their lifestyle choices for them. You CAN pay in cash up front or several other methods. In addition, $379/mo was his/her choice and could have done the membership differently if they would have just explored their options more carefully.
First of all, the reason that it is "high pressure" is because the manufacturers confidentiality agreement ONTO DirectBuy (not DirectBuy's fault); and the claim that you can "never" come back if you decline is BS! The normal waiting period after a membership denial is 7 years; After which you can choose to attend another Open House and choose membership at that time.
