Group to be studied on journey to Mars

Six volunteers have agreed to participate in the Russian Mars 500 project simulating a flight to the Red planet. The simulation, being conducted in Moscow, started on Tuesday.

well its about 250 degrees F (I cook my food twice that temperature) in space when exposed to the sun at the distance they were at anyway. They had liquid cooled suits that keep them safe in the suits. The suits they were wearing are much more complex than you think they are as well. Your second point, I think thats where the space stations sit at.

I wonder why no one's been to the Moon since. I also wonder how space suits and bits of metal are able protect the crew against the Sun's radiation (you know, the stuff that the Earth's magnetic field deflects the most of).

It's also quite interesting to note that the altitude, at which NASA considers to be "out of space", isn't even out of range of the Earth's atmosphere / magnetic field.

Go figure.
