@TomothyWomothyMusic Pshaw; classical snobbery. How about Herbie Hancock improvising a four-level fugue with another artist, onstage, and smacking it out of the park? How about Radiohead or their predecessors deconstructing common concepts of melody and progression and assembling their own?

@chillpullman Neither was any musician outside of classical composition styles; not a bad thing, but I agree that calling modern musicians 'geniuses' for writing great songs is a massive overstatement.
