We have 2 of these engines still in the loft mine did`nt run to well but dads ran better was wondering what do you use for fuel refills when it runs low? do you know what horse power of the engine is I always wanted to ride on it when i was a kid

They made them back in the 70's, dont call yourself the hornby man if you cant recognise a hornby locomotive.

@peanutpie1000 i thought there was one in it already..... old and very tired one which

was undernourished to begin with.....and that was the reason it wasn't running right....

@1badapple1984 OK... try this, but mind you this is a suggestion i am not saying this is the cure...try not

filling the boiler to the top, leave a bit of space for the steam. (i check the water level with a chop stick)

it is disappointing english model steam engines are not as good as the wilesco engines.... but...

try and let me know...i am working on some things that might solve problems i will share info with you.

did anyone looked into converting rocket from butane to solid alcohol like

wilesco engines? there is an ample room where the butane burner unit

shoots the flame.... another thing is the tube you have to unscrew to fill will butane has a troublesome valve which leaks... i solved the problem of that

i'll be hanging some pix at my channel for ppl to see......

im having trouble building the steam up in my rocket. she does not have the power to pull its own weight but will if you lift her up. it also chucks loads of water out the bottom whilst heating up. please help
