Ok, that is one cool playset, any idea to it's value in today's market? I mean it was made after a great classic movie. Force Ten would have been cool if they'd only got their characters straight. Great cast though.

I got mine in 1976 I think and I play with my 5 year old now with mine. Not in great shape, but we have a blast! Pretty cool that you can share it with your son.

@Goze211 I actually just started looking for this toy. The mat is actually from a newer version. Plus the Germain soldiers in the older version were dark gray.

I think it is funny that the invasion beach has a flagpole like a parade ground, how patriotic! Someone have me one of these playsets and I carried it about a mile home when kids could still walk home.

I still have mine as well, but from 1980. It was a great toy... until I discovered magnifying glasses DOH!! My soldiers had life-like wounds LOL

We had Navarone mountain and Bravo Squad, another playset very similar except it was Marines vs Japanese soldiers. We got those around 1977 or 78.

The flag has vertical red, white and blue stripes. I think the German Empire flag had horizontal black, white, and red stripes. Still, you might be right and they just messed up the direction and one color.

@couthon You can see at about 1:36 that the mat was designed for the playset. Also you can see roads lead from the beach to the main door. Maybe it was ommited from later versions.
