in my opinion, roping is more efficient and faster because you can have several ropers dragging calves at one time. Although the stress level maybe higher than in a chute, it would go down faster roping because the animal is not in a confined area as long than in the chute. Ponoholo ranch, here on the big island of Hawaii, they operate at a low stress policy and branding 600 calves roping goes by in a mater of 3-4 hours vs. brand 600 calve via chute would take all day!

ever thought about the possibility, this cattle moved because it was frightened according to the unknown touch? the third time it didnt act hurt.
and after, it didnt run away in panic

freeze branding obviously HAS tu hurt, because it damages the animals' skin... it HAS TO.
