Just done this line today. Seats were dirty. Shame they're loosing the slammers to 158s. HSTs could be a better option...

I went down there while at Eastleigh open day, it turned out to be a desiro (due to high demand for the slammer!!??). Anyway the guard says they are going to gone by next April/may due to staff training or they dont have enough staff to cover those that are away during training or something alone those lines in time fro when the new may timetables starts (2010).

This has NOT been confirmed they are due for a long overhaul at the end of the year only then will SWT make a decision as to sell them to prerservation societys or keep them and build new parts for them
