Love going to this festival, but Pt. Townsend has a love/hate relationship with the people who come there to attend these events. Attitude everywhere if you're from out of town. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful location and a great Festival, where you will see the best of Northwest boat building.

Too funny. Dont go fast...
My 30 footer with double planked hull, twin 100 hp engines does 28 mph. That is quite respectable.

wood boats go as fast as any other boat material. it depends on the design of the boat more than anything else. i have paddled wooden kayaks that will do 20 knots or more if you want them to (and have the stamina to keep it up!)
