In this video members from the ASF present the following open letter to the Serbian consulate in Sydney, Australia.

Open letter to the Serbian Consulate, Australia

We demand the release by the Serbian government of Ratibor Trivunac, Tadej Kurepa, Ivan Vulović, Sanja Đokić and Nikola Mitrović, members of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative (ASI). We protest the unjust arrest and detainment of our comrades on trumped-up charges, which the ASI has vehemently denied (http://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=7227).

This attack on the ASI, and by extension the International Workers Association (IWA), is an attack on organised labour everywhere. All dissenters should be concerned by the trend towards labelling all dissent terrorism. The latest escalation of oppression by the Serbian government comes after an ASI member was arrested for the trivial offence burning an American flag. Clearly there is an attempt to target the ASI. This will not go unnoticed internationally.

Even today, in coordination with this action comrades are also protesting at the Serbian consulate in Britain.

  • my union stopped using comrade it sounds like you like Leninism and it just scares workers away we use brother/sister-in-labor instead it is easier

  • @qwertypoiu4321 I call... BULLSHITTT. What are you, free market capitalism ftw- type guy?

  • @DailyBrusher

"ANARCHO-syndicalists are not interested in any kind of "coercive statism.""

So-called 'anarcho-syndicalists' are not calling for everything to be voluntary, as in voluntary means of production. They are calling for the same 5,000 year old Statist system of the coercive ownership of the means of production, and just using the term 'worker' to cover it up.

  • @qwertypoiu4321

I think you're a bit confused. Maybe what you're talking about could be called "syndico-communism" or "Bolshevist-Syndicalism," but I'm fairly certain that most modern ANARCHO-syndicalists are not interested in any kind of "coercive statism."

  • 'Anarcho-Syndicalism' is a form of coercive statism.

Everything should be voluntary, the exact opposite of 'Anarcho-Syndicalism'.

  • Solidairty comrades!

    An IWA-AIT comrade.

  • Just thought I should add (becuase they're too modest to mention it themselves) that at least two of the people in that clip traveled from Melbourne to Sydney *specifically* for that one protest. For those from Europe it's worth knowing that that's a journey of about 800km, each way.

This protest was well worth doing; an attack on one is an attack on all and we take that very, very seriously.
