  • do you need to dynamat your entire car? or can i just do my trunk where my subs are

  • @AwwesomePossumm The More the better. Primarily the areas around the speakers/subs are the way to go. If you can dynamat your entire vehicle; It's gonna be amazing. What I've done with one of my cars is the front door panels, the trunk lid and the trunk floor (around the spare tire hole ofcourse as well).

  • What would you do about dash vibrations?

  • @djtj1216 Get a higher quality vehicle or a smoother subwoofer.

  • what about if the window mechanism need replace?

  • @Tetzas Then as they say in France: You're Fucked.

  • @djtj1216 Putting a "wedge" between the dash and metal will add pressure and sometimes eliminates rattle. Trying just holding down the dash with your hand as a test while your system is playing and see if that helps.

  • in the video, it seems like he applied the mat over 2 decent size holes and didn't cut through it. is that right?

  • original. You can buy bulk packs off ebay for much cheaper

It's probably going to take about 20 hours to do a thorough install, but it is worth every minute of a free weekend. I installed dynamat xtreme on my coupe on the doors, under the seats, on the side walls of the car, and around all sides of the trunk. On a scale of 1-10, the sound quality and reduction and road noise is probably 9/10, and that's in a honda prelude - not exactly what one would consider to be a quiet vehicle

  • the dynamat through holes in your door frame (such as the speaker hole). To do so, carefully roll up a sheet (say 12" x 12"), work it through the speaker hole, and use your hands to guide it to the uncovered portion of your door's metal body.

Like mentioned in this video, the heating mechanism (hair dryer, whatever) is a must. If you don't use it, the installation can get sloppy fast.

BUT, going against this video, dynamat xtreme is the way to go. It's a much better product than the

  • This installation method is incorrect; certainly "inadequate" at best. I came to this video, having fully installed dynamat in my first of 2 vehicles, hoping there's an easier way for the second. But, problems I see here:

Like mentioned before, if you install it this way, you are blocking off access to the window mechanisms. THIS IS BAD. There is room, with the window rolled up, to attach dynamat to the metal body of the door (the inside surface of the exterior metal). You have to work (cont'd)
