From zero experience, 14 days later. this trainee and his group are ready as croupiers to work with call bets. Blackjack and poker trained simultaneously too! Not previously using English since left school so emphasis on English skills too.
Note: fellow students practicing chip work, cutting down inside hand and stacking up out side hand. None of the students had previous casino experience and have been training only 14 days.

  • Man, we were never trained to place bets on the racetrack... We have to learn all the French Bets numbers off by heart and place them on the layout... Wish I knew how the racetrack works. Seen them at other Casino's but we don't have them.

  • Quite a while ago i worked in a French casino. We had to make the chip change, place the table chips on the neighbours and announce them all whilst the ball was spinning. The average would be 3 callbets bets managed. With the racetrack the dealer can accept at least 5 bets per spin. The first time i saw the race track was in Dublin, i took off the previous dealer and asked what the thing was. Told it was a racetrack, i span the ball and used it immediately on a table full of chinese players.

  • part 2..

Running down chips is time wasted and its easy to run down chips, conceal one and then run back up with the same hand. The surveillance/supervisors monitors correct payouts by amount of stack in comparison to

    complete stacks.

Also the cleaning of hands suggested is also not necessary as no cash has been accepted, all value chips and payouts are cut down with the inside hand and stacked up with the outside hand and he is neither arriving or leaving the table.

  • Thanks Drew for the compliments.

These guys were pretty hot on the calculations too though. We moved on from the regular picture bets within the first fews days.

The reason they are not running down the chips is that they are precise in chip cutting. You can see that from the other dealers constantly practicing whilst acting also as customers. We actually do timing chip exercises with eyes closed.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Did you feel you were a better standard after only 14 days training from your training school?

BTW, How long was your training school?

  • Good effort for 14 days. Training at the casino I work at is double that in training time with results that are not necessarily better.

  • romani?

  • By the way, good job for two weeks worth of training!! Very impressive!!

  • @aacasino

    Different procedures for different casinos.

At our casino we do run down and clear hands every time we handle chips. I see your point as to this being time wasted, although to be fair it is a tiny amount of time. If we compare it to a situation where dealers may not be up to scratch or may be dealing "lazy" (that is to say having a mini-break after making payouts instead of spinning up the wheel) then clearing hands/running chips down really is not a big problem.

  • you did a good job with my friends from work.very nice

  • Jesus, how do you remember who bet what?
