2 months playing and I gave up on trying to perfect the fingering, right now I'm doing great if I hit the right note with any finger, thumb, elbow.. what ever! Trying to keep my mind off the lightening, rain and wind rocking my trailer. I've had a 6 1/2 fret added to my dulcimer at the Tamarack by Tish, (yes I gave in). I'm attending classes with them now and they have been extremly generous with their knowledge. I played better this morning when I went and visited them. (more)

  • wish i could do that. i have a mcspadden hourglass walnut dulcimer and cannot get the hang of supposedly easiest instrument to play. wish there was someone close to teach me. keep up the great work.

  • ooo you can do that and much better!! thats me struggling with learning after brain trama, I play better now but still can't memorize, & I started the dulcimer thinking it was the easiest, but, for me, it's not, because it is not chromatic, so understanding the dulcimer has been hard for me. email me and tell me what music your using, maybe I can share how to get started. McSpadden is supose to be a very nice instrument.

  • Nice, well played, and such a great tune.

  • thanks, I think that tune sounds best on the dulcimer, (though in my beginning struggles I really hack it up :) )

  • you are doing great, that instrument is wonderful:):)

  • Have you gotten your dulcimer yet?

  • never seen that before! what's the draw?

  • no not yet:):)

  • mousepot, thanks, this dulcimer will hold up to 6 strings, I started with 4, but went down to three.

We needed the rain, I'm not too happy about the wind and thunder.. but that part is over now.

  • clapclapclapclap, Niiice. Is that a 3 string or 4 string instrument? We could use some of that rain here in Fla.
