Dr. Greg Farley, professor of biological sciences and the 2010 President's Distinguished Scholar at Fort Hays State University, was the featured speaker at the 22nd annual Honors Convocation, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Black and Gold Room of the Memorial Union FHSU's campus.
Farley was named as this year's distinguished scholar at the Fall Convocation that began the academic year on Aug. 18. The President's Distinguished Scholar, who receives a medallion and a $1,500 cash award, is selected by FHSU President Edward H. Hammond from recommendations forwarded to him by an evaluation committee of previous presidential scholars. The committee is chaired by the FHSU provost, Dr. Larry Gould.
Farley's scholarly presentation is titled "Migration: Birds on the Wing."
Other faculty were also recognized at the convocation for their outstanding scholarly activity over the past year.
