if anyone disagrees with this because its "personal bias" or anything like that, i think you need to watch the sermon, "Beast from the abyss". that goes more in depth, and covers different angles. he gives the history of hip hop, and how it came directly from voo doo ceremonies.

Incredible

@davemwillow Pastor Myers said that there is no instrument that is evil. He played a song with drums and said that it was good. If you have a problem with that tell him about it.

@davemwillow well said. well said.

@cpossenriede Drums as we know it (the drum set) came from africa and were one of those instruments that had it's great part in creating blues, jazz, rock'n'roll and everything else. whatever you say you will not make me believe that the source does not matter. They make music sound better? only if you are so used to the secular music standards and the 'experience' is more important than what is in the words you sing. If you want to reform something look at Luther

Ps. Ivor Myer is a man of God yet he does not explain all things balanced and abroad in music and instrument thats why there is a rain of comments on these videos. Most of the discussion is on the drums. Well there is much to say about the drums as well as for it in worship as well as against it in worship. We need to ask God guidance. I give music seminars on music and I have like 14 hours of material on music and there are practical things he is not explaning. Let us Go on our knees"

He said in his presentation that there is NO musical instrument that is evil in and of itself. I agree. That includes drums. He included drums in a song earlier in his presentation and said that it was appropriate. They can be used appropriately. Ellen White said that “In reforms, we would better come one step short of the mark than to go one step beyond it. And if there is error at all, let it be on the side next to the people." CD 468. Don’t go one step beyond it in your reform on music.
