@DeVeradactyl the only reason you have three thumbs down for this is that they dont understand where your comeing from. But i must say hi scomedy style is completely different. Dick van dyke was dutch. Larry david is a new york jew, and he bases his comedy on jewish humor i.e suzie green. The woman who plays that character is a hardcore jewish comedian. So i think it maybe a little far fetched that larry david stole anything. But nice try
Thanks for the explanation, but I still think there is something to this connection. It is not Van Dyke that Larry is paying tribute to, it's the genius of Carl Reiner. Reiner is a legendary Jewish comedian who began his career writing for Sid Caesar. Reiner created the Dick Van Dyke Show and even starred as Robert Petrie in the pilot. It is Reiner, not Van Dyke, who deserves the credit. Come on, youtubers. Grow up. Do some research.
@DeVeradactyl these are just influences then. it doesnt mean he stole anything. Carl reiner has a friend he started with named mel brooks you heard of him? anyway that prooves my point carl reiner and mel brooks had that jewish comedy that larry david was raised around and adopted. the comedy in dick van dyke is pure anglo american christian to appease the population at the time. I think your right in a way but i dont think there was any stealing.
