Title: "Elementary Health Made Easy!"
Teachers: Joe Goodwin & Kathryn Starn

Overview: This program was created as a result of frustration over the lack of consistent health curriculum at the elementary school level. It delivered an easy-to-teach weekly curriculum that addressed the Childhood Obesity Epidemic in America, encouraging participation from family, utilizing technology, and integrating all core academic areas. Multiple online resources make this a fully functional health project that can be accessed through internet by teachers, parents, and students at any time. Additionally, these resources allowed students to increase their digital literacy.

Significant Results/Learnings: As a result of Health Talk's teaching strategies, in the 2008-2009 school year, 275 second grade students achieved on average a 138% increase in health knowledge by engaging in the Health Made Easy curriculum.
