Eliza Quigley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Greg Bomke as her Cavalier, dance the grand pas de deux in Betty Seibert's production of The Nutcracker.

Note from Greg: Thanks for watching - I only posted this video to show it to a friend online, and I'm shocked to see how many people have watched it. I totally agree with those of you who say you've seen better - I have too! This is a STUDENT production, far from perfect, and I never intended to present it as professional work. Nothing wrong with criticism, but please take this video in context - and please don't sink to the level of personal insult - it doesn't reflect well on you. Thanks.

  • Where was this made? Is the dance company NRDC?

  • No, this was Cecchetti Students Ballet Company - now known as Cecchetti Ballet Theatre - in Connecticut.

  • How old are you both? I study Cecchetti method also, but unfortunately the demand for that style has been overpowered by RAD here :( Gotta love the Cecchetti ;)

  • When this video was taken, Greg was 27 and had been retired for four years, and Eliza was (I believe) 17, though she may have been 18 by then.

Thanks for the comment, and for keeping Cecchetti alive! :)

  • Hey! I know Betty! She works with my most beloved teacher, Denise Ribaldi, what a small world.

  • It is, isn't it? I know Denise, though I haven't seen her in years.

  • Performing arts is not just for the incredibly gifted to enjoy, it is for people of ALL levels--everyone should be able to experience the joy of learning, performing and developing some creative art and keeping it with them their entire life. My compliments to these young people, keep ART in your hearts your entire life and never listen to the nasty comments of people who think art is limited--when it has no boundries. It is they who have no vision.

  • i commend you guys. honestly it wasnt the best ive seen, but it was still worth watching. good job
